On Saturday, March 10th
2018 we went to Desa Wisata Ngringinan for field trip. All of tourism students
Vocational Collage Universitas Gadjah Mada 2016 joined this activity. We went
by our motorcycle. It takes less more one hour from our campus to get there. We
accompanied by Mr. Fatkhurohman as our lecturer and also local guide from Desa
Wisata Ngringinan. We started our journey at 08.00 a.m.
After we arrived at Desa Wisata
Ngringinan we felt the fresh air and saw rice fields. Walked along 100 meters
from the gate I met with local community, I talked with them and I could feel
the warmth, affection and their hospitality. Just one minute there I felt like around
my family. You would find the another side of Yogyakarta. Quiet place without pollution,
comfortable place with culture. All of tourism students vocstionsl collage
Universitas Gadjah Mada met in Museum Belanda.
First, we got brief explanation from
Mr. Kun, Mrs. Andriani And also Mr. Hamlet they welcomed us with smile. Mr. Kun explained
us brief story about Desa Wisata Ngringinan, the attractions and anythings
about Ngringinan. As Mr. Kun said Desa Wisata Ngringinan was established on February
22th 2017.
After getting the explanations we
divided into two groups. Which is one group stayed at Museum Belanda and the
another one went to Gereja Hati Kudus Ganjuran. I joined with the first group. We
got new knowledge about one of attraction in Desa Wisata Ngringinan. Mrs.
Andriani explained us how to make “Madumongso”. Madungmongso is traditional
food there, it is sweet because made from palm sugar and sticky rice. It is
tasteful. We could buy Madumongso 34.000 rupiahs per kilogram.

Then
we are going to Gereja Hati Kudus Ganjuran. We walked around the church. Mr.
Kun become our guide who explains us about the church. Church of the Sacred
Heart of Jesus is a Roman Catholic church. It is the oldest church in Bantul. It
was founded on April 16th 1924 by the Schmutzer Family, who owned
sugar factory in Bantul .The church area divided into temple, dormitory of
pastors and the main church building. The main church building is a joglo
decorated by Javanese carvings. The main building was built without wall
because it means everyone could pray there, not just catholic but also moslem
and etc. In the temple we would find everyone prayed there. Visited this church
I saw the harmony of heart. One sentence that shows the situation is “Unity in
Diversity”. No matter what is the religion, no matter what is the nationality,
No matter what is the culture.
Gereja Hati Kudus Ganjuran was our last
destination here. We back to Museum Belanda to get lunch. It was simple food
but i felt like in restaurant because I felt got new family here. I couldn’t
tell you more about my journey and also my feelings. Not just enjoyed but I hope
I could give my contributions to Desa Wisata Ngringinan. I hope this place
cuould be better place to be visited, I could give positive footprint and I could
help the local community get better.
